Pacers Lose 118-101 in Game 1 of Eastern Conference Semifinals
The Indiana Pacers' historic Game 7 victory over the New York Knicks was not enough to carry them past the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals. The Celtics defeated the Pacers 118-101 in Game 1 on Friday night.
Jayson Tatum led the way for Boston with 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. The Pacers were led by Tyrese Haliburton's 22 points. Indiana shot just 39.8% from the field, compared to 50.6% for Boston.
The Pacers and Celtics met five times in the regular season, with Indiana winning two games and Boston winning three. The Celtics have now won the first two games of the series and will host Game 3 in Boston on Sunday.
